As with websites, there are a number of website directories that are now defunct including AboutUs.org, Anime Web Turnpike, Biographicon, DMOZ (Open Directory Project), Google Directory, Internet Public Library, Intute, LookSmart, Lycos' Top 5%, Yahoo! Directory, Yahoo! Kids, and Zeal.

We also want to look at the way these directories intertwine with our other web page types. Say you're one of the 2700 pig farmers in Australia and, sure, you're as likely to look up unrelated matters as anyone else but let's say you're conducting searches for sites relevant to your vocation:
