Moving on Down
Me, I don't mind public speaking. I'm not afraid of death while it's not imminent. Heights, snakes, spiders, the threat of abduction or attack, etc etc. I'm unphased by most things and tend to get indignant from afar, figuring that anyone or anything stupid enough to try anything will come off second best.
But I do hate moving. And the weekend before last was closing in on traumatic. Which probably explains why this is my first move in five years.
Anyway it all went as well as can be expected and it's over now. I'm even getting my bond back which should defray some of the costs involved.

In other news, I'm with Mike Carlton. If anyone deserved to cop a serve on the day of their funeral, it was Stan Zemanek. He built a career out of lambasting and bullying those less fortunate and to eulogise him in glowing terms seems particulary inappropriate. But I guess it's one of those things where you can say what you like while the bloke is alive but reserve your harsh comments for when the corpse is cold.
